Umoja brings over a decade of experience in fostering trust and connections within newcomer, low-income, and refugee communities. We understand the challenges of isolation and the importance of bridging gaps. Our food hampers are thoughtfully curated to include essential staples and culturally significant foods, delivered with dignity.
By prioritizing culturally relevant items and fresh produce, we provide a dignified solution to daily food requirements. Additionally, we seek to extend our support by offering doorstep delivery, ensuring recipients receive their food in a respectful and convenient manner.

Standard food banks may offer items unfamiliar to new Calgarians, leading to wasted food and feelings of isolation. The Mosaic Food Program addresses this issue by prioritizing culturally appropriate food choices. By providing familiar items, we aim to create a sense of comfort and belonging for newcomer families, especially during difficult times.

The Mosaic Food Program delivers food hampers with essential staples and culturally relevant items. We offer door-to-door delivery or pickup at our hubs in Glenbrook SW and Temple NE, ensuring accessibility and dignity for recipients. Our focus on culturally familiar food reduces waste and helps families prepare healthy meals.

The Mosaic Food Program goes beyond food provision. Our community inclusion workers assist families in accessing vital support services for building their lives in Canada. We offer free activities and programs including translation services, school support, employment connections, mental health counseling, afterschool programs, youth leadership, and Soccer Without Boundaries. These initiatives foster connections and facilitate integration into the broader community.
